I must admit that the goal of this E-bike trip was the lunch at the best restaurant in Neratovice – “Terasa” – at point 16 next to the railway bridge over Labe. And as usual, it did not disappoint. Parking at the small square next to it is convenient and free. You can also arrive by train, of course. The ride was quite smooth without complications – the only part where you should be more careful is 7 to 9, downhill bumpy road. If you want to avoid another bumpy ride along Labe, you can take the marked bike route from 12 to 14 instead of our map. At point 3 you will have a chance to visit a beautiful baroque Castle Liblice, the conference center of The Academy of Sciences, where you actually can stay as in the normal but very fancy hotel.
The memorial of Jan Palach in Všetaty at point 2 was a surprise. And if you did not see it yet, you definitely should go there. It is the architectural marvel – the original house of Palach family which was hollowed out just like the lives of their people after Jan set himself on fire to remind people that not even a year ago everybody was so sure that they could live under different conditions and not in a totalitarian state. And that Russians should go home! We did not want them here, just like people of Ukraine don’t want them in their country. But it took another 20 years to get rid of them…
