Dobříš to Hluboš (Torture)

Oh yes, Brdy again… This time we explored the part around Čenkov and Hluboš, where for some reason we never went before. And the reason for that revealed itself very soon. The red tourist mark from 5 to 15 is really not intended for biking… Most of it is actually rideable, but several pieces are really tricky, or not rideable at all. The function “walk” on the E-bike is really useful in these parts.

However, it was worth to go that way. The nature around this trail is gorgeous. From 9 to 12 you will be on the edge of a cliff in an ancient forest. At point 7 you should not miss the interesting structure at the point where the borders of four administration meet. Original cornerstone is surrounded by a stone circle with a tiny staircase. You may be wondering what is the purpose of this staircase – it is safety for the tiny animals which may fall in and without this feature they would die in there…

From 19 to 26 we made a mistake and followed the blue tourist mark. It is doable, but it was an unnecessary additional torture. It is better to use our suggested route, or stay on the road at point 19 and rejoin the route at 24. The only place where you can get some refreshments is at point 26 at Hluboš (Zámecká Krčma) – and it is a good one… From there a nice ride will bring you back to Dobříš where you started this trip.

  1. Hi, you are great Brdy fans (smile). I didn’t drive this whole way, it’s for pedestrians(smile), I know it on Kuchyňka. Difficult. I’m glad to hear that you are walking the hiking trails and the e-bike is just an escort(smile). You know my opinion. Bicycles, e-bikes and motorbikes do not belong on footpaths. It destroys them. Especially when you have followers (smile). Those steps for hedgehogs are great. I know one joke about how a bear fell into a hole, he couldn’t climb out and walked around hares, but that’s up to Michal in the pub….. (smile).
