Kunžak

It looks like the square in Kunžak is a popular starting point for biking around Česká Kanada. The parking lot was full of cars with the bike hitches. The first part of the ride is unfortunately on the asphalt road, but at point 2 you will finally get out of the civilization. And most of the trip will lead you through different types of forests.

The long ride downhill 7 to 9 is one of the highlights of the trip. If you are ready for a bit of adrenalin, you can depart from the road at point 8 turning sharp right and follow the barely visible path downhill until you reach the blue tourist mark which you will follow to point 10. Yes, it is rideable if you have a mountain bike – it is not advisable for the town bikes. You can also join blue mark at point 9, but we did not test that part.

At point 12 you can break your ride for a refreshment (or a taste of a bison meat) at the “Bison Ranch“. And you can see real American bison herd there.

From a village of Kaproun you can use an alternative bike roads, but if you will follow us through a little tricky 14 and 15, you will see Cimrman’s swing and Cimrman memorial at the narrow gage railway station Kaproun.

After point 18 you have to decide whether you had enough of adrenalin for a day, or you can go with us along a red tourist mark back to Kunžak. That path is pretty narrow with a limited visibility of an approaching traffic. And we actually met there a motorcycle  with a cascadeur rider.
