A rather short ride in Prague neighborhoods and along the Vltava river. You can start at the parking in front of the Písecká brána, the gate from the medieval times’ fortification of Prague. This historical site was recently renovated and is now hosting a cozy coffee shop. After crossing Letná park you may look at the historical merry-go-round at point 4, again very recently renovated by National Technical Museum, which is just across the street from there. Interesting note – this carousel was originally driven by children running under the platform and pushing this thing around. After five runs under they could ride the carousel on top. And there was a long line of kids to operate/ride this invention. Nowadays it is being pushed by boring electricity.
After crossing Vltava around point 7 you will endure a very steep climb up for about 1km. From 9 to 11 the path can be pretty muddy, especially from 10 to 11. Another muddy part is waiting for you between 16 and 17. After that, you will ride on a nice asphalt bike path along the river bank with several points where you can have a drink or a bratwurst.
