Milešov – České středohoří

The Bohemian Central Highlands (České středohoří) is the area which we neglected up to now. So, it was the high time to fix that. We started our E-bike trip from Milešov, a village under the highest mountain of this mountain range Milešovka. Even though some people get to the top with their bikes, we did not see a point in walking our bikes uphill. Besides, we visited the top of Milešovka a couple years ago – well the views from there were impressive…

As usual we were trying to avoid regular roads, but it seemed that we did not have to, there was almost no traffic on this weekend. Several forest paths which we tried were not rideable, but everything in the map below was tested. The only tricky part is 4 to 5, very narrow bumpy ride steep downhill – we actually walked our bikes for a part of it. You may avoid climbing to point 8, the view from there is not much better than view from the bike path further downhill. Riding from 9 to 10 you will think that we lost our mind and got lost, but if you can see at least the trace of the trail, you are on the right path.

As you can see from the pictures below, we were mesmerized by the supersized statue of the jumping frog in Červený Újezd. We don’t think you can miss it, but don’t try to swim in that little water structure! Polly almost jumped in…

We usually mention the spot to refresh yourself, but there was none on this trip. However, at the end we went for lunch to Kostomlaty pod Milešovkou where we found an excellent place called Hospůdka U Kamila (little pub at Kamil’s), where an American ex-pat is running an original American BBQ as his hobby. Unfortunately only Friday to Sunday…
