We thought that we explored Brdy very comprehensively already. However, this E-bike trip showed us that we are still not done. We started from Zaječov, where we found very convenient parking lot.
The trip has an interesting elevation profile with close to 1km elevation gain. When you reach the top of the climb for the fifth time, you are guaranteed to go only downhill till the end. Most of your ride you are in the dense forest with the exception of area of Padrťské rybníky and military exercise area Jordán.
You should not miss several dilapidated bunkers and memorials to Russian partisans fighting German army in Brdy, placed exactly in the spots where they died. You may see the them marked with the red star. Back then, they were really fighting fascists and not being them as they are nowadays in Ukraine. The bunkers you cannot miss – they were built for the studies how to destroy them. And as you can see, some of them held quite well.
