We could have gone to Křivoklát during this trip, but since it was weekend, we tried to avoid the crowds and skipped this attraction. Starting point at Rakovník is convenient and we always found the parking spot there. Of course, you can also arrive by train.
This E-bike ride up to a point 9 does not require any special skills and point 9 (restaurant Na Ostrově) is actually convenient spot to sit down, have Kofola and think about the next steps. You can either cut the trip short and go back to Rakovník along the little stream, or you can go for an extra loop 9 to 19. Nice uphill 9 to 10 is followed by a long downhill ride through the deep valley 11 to 12, probably nicest part of this trip. After that, you can use the shortcut 13 to 14, or you can stay on the road for this little stretch.
At point 15 you have to make an important decision. If you continue on our map, you will not be able to avoid nonrideable downhill part 18 to 19, which you will have to walk down. It is only about 200 m, but only people with suicidal tendencies might try to ride it. Walking is not pleasant, but doable with no problems. Otherwise you can turn left at 15 and join blue tourist mark at 10 to go back downhill to Pustověty. Ride back to Rakovník is following the gorgeous valley with the only problem – plenty of riders. On the contrary, during the first 40 km of this trip you will probably not meet anybody.
