This ride is recommended for people who are not keen on meeting lots of other bikers on their trip. Starting point was the tiny parking lot in Pohorská Ves. We rode this one earlier this year, weather was not the best, and end result was that there were no bikers on the whole trip. As we mentioned in our earlier blog, Novohradské Hory is Šumava without tourists.
You will be riding close to the border with Austria, but unlike during the communist’s time, nobody will be bothering you. The path is well maintained and there will be no surprises. At the end back in Pohorská Ves you may purchase some goat cheese directly from the farm (see the last picture). The ad for it says: “Absolutely not following norms of European Union and therefore to be used only for animal feeding. Tested on people.” So, you should definitely buy some…
