Checking Vítkov after New Year Fireworks

Version of this blog we posted exactly one year ago… And this year it was exactly the same, nice weather and big mess under the statue. This time we were looking for another geocache and on the way there we discovered “a carousel”, a circular ride connecting the bridge to the ground (7). And it is a fun to ride it – try to go fast – but make sure that there is nobody walking in front of you. (And to find the geocache you don’t have to go down, by the way.)

Last night it seemed that most of the fireworks were coming from the top of Vítkov next to the statue of Jan Žižka. So we biked there just to check… And it had to be wild. We can understand that some people do not want to carry back the spent fireworks packages, but why it seems to be a good idea for some to just break the empty bottles?

On the way you can check the entrance to the tunnel to Karlín which was beautifully renovated and the new entrance can serve as a nice meeting place. Quick pick up of another tiny geocache was a little bonus for us.
