An easy ride through Modřanská rokle, along Vltava and airport Točná. If you do a little side trip at point 20 along the river, you will see the work of the beaver. He decided to cut a really substantial tree – see the title picture – so let us know whether he already finished the job.
The good starting point is a parking at the airport Točná where you can see various small planes parked there or just landing or departing – if you are lucky. If you will be around there on the 9th of May, you may visit the collection of the historical airplanes there. At point 3 you should not miss the biggest frog you would ever see. After point 5 you may experience a little bumpiness, but still an easy ride. At point 11 you may decide that you don’t need any adrenalin and cut your ride short continuing directly to point 18 (at this point do not miss the sight on the right – one of the majestic Prague protected trees). But if you rather follow our map to explore the side arm of Modřanská rokle (actually the prettiest part) from 12 to 17, you should be very careful riding between 14 and 16. After that point there are not too many difficult stretches, just maybe for people which are afraid of heights the climb up to the bridge at point 23, where they may avoid looking down at the path which is floating high in the air.
Reasonable spot for refreshment is the point 22, Drive Garden, where they know how to pour Kofola with nice head. And just in case you will be passing this point on April 30, you may join in so called “Pálení čarodějnic” (Witches burning) celebration.
