Bušohrad or “You may not see any bikers”

If you are tired of riding along “cyklostezky” along with hundreds of your fellow bikers, you may consider this ride. You may not meet anybody, during the workday it is almost guranteed. Besides 1 km on the road just before the end of a trip, you will be on forest roads, none of which is marked as cyclostezka.

Bušohrad is not even a village and you may have hard time to find it on a regular map. However, there is a reasonable place to park not far from this place. Up to a point 3 you may be thinking that we selected an easy ride. But after 3 the path will be a little more challenging, but bikeable. We made a mistake at point 5 and tried to go straight uphill instead following the road to the left leading to point 6. If you are looking for a real challenge, you may try this strainght uphill as well, but following the mapped road is almost impossible. And you will walk a bike for about 200 m through very muddy ground. So, not really recommended… It is much better to keep on our map and go to point 7 as marked. After that it is a smooth sailing. Well, there is a tree across the path between points 10 and 11, but it is easy to go around it.

At point 21 you will be wondering whether the climb up will be steeper than the long ride down to 21. Yes, it will. At point 22 it probably cannot get steeper, but you have an E-bike, so you will be able to do it.

The good point to take a break is point 17, the only place not in the forest, and a good place to harvest some tasty blackberries. On the way to the starting point you may be passing between two castles Točník and Žebrák, which may be worth to visit. We passed through this area several times before starting from Beroun or from Skryje. If you will be returning to Prague, you may stop at Beroun at Cyklopoint shop, where you can check the new E-bikes from Merida.
