Malé Karpaty, Slovakia

It was surprising to find out that miles and miles of bike paths are available just five minutes from the Bratislava center. As we quickly realized, it is important to pay attention to the traffic signs and do not depend entirely on the phone navigation – yes, you can drive your car pretty high in this protected area of Malé Karpaty (Little Carpathians), but you must have a special permit… So, it is advisable to find a spot at the parking lot where we started our E-bike trip.

Another important thing is not to run out of the battery in your phone. There is so many biking trails that it is very easy to pick the one which would lead you away from your destination…

Not many comments are necessary here – at point 3 you should trust the mapping app, even though it looks like the trail is disappearing in the fallen trees. But there is a path around them… BUT – path from 7 to 8 is a trail from hell. Steep uphill through ruts made by heavy machinery, totally nonbikeable. However, if you want to visit the well known pilgrimage site Marianka, you either suffer the 7 to 8 torture, or you may backtrack to Malinsky vrch by following the bike route along Malinsky potok (stream). After point 9 you will finish your E-bike ride on a long ride downhill.
