There are two parts of the beautiful landscape Czech Switzerland (České Švýcarsko) and Saxon Switzerland Mountains (Sächsische Schweiz). This E-bike trip will bring you to a pieces of both. And if you are not paying attention, you will not even notice going from Czechia to Germany and back.
You will start at the convenient parking lot at Doubice next to Stará Hospoda (Old Pub), which you cannot miss since it is surrounded by an eclectic selection of wood carved statues of anything you can imagine. If you are interested in old military vehicles, you can find them there too.
After point 3 you will enter the national park České Švýcarsko, one of four national parks of this country. If this is your first visit, we can guarantee that you will come back – there is so much more to explore. We were here several times and you can always find a new route to go through this countryside.
After you cross to Germany, you will be on a asphalt road for a very short time and after point 6, where you can refresh yourself (if you have a local European currency, euros), you will enter the forest roads again.
It is a lot of up and down, but mountain bike is not absolutely necessary, you can manage with a regular bike. You will see a lot of damage caused by the bark beetle and also by a forest fire of 2022. Actually, these natural disasters made for a nicer views in several places…
