Once we were last summer in Lužické hory, it was obvious that we can do a ride through three countries – Czechia, Germany, and Poland. So we started from Hrádek nad Nisou and after a couple of minutes we arrived at point 2 (Trojmezí), where you can see all three countries at the same time. However, to be able to stand in all these countries you would have to wade to the middle of the little stream Lužická Nisa. You may catch the glimpse of some people doing just it.
After about 2 km riding through Poland you will cross to Germany at point 4. Next 13 km you will be riding in Germany. We were not sure whether the part from 5 to 7 would be rideable, since it was marked as MTB XTERRA. However, there was only one short stretch where you had to pay attention, or after big rain maybe walk about 20 m.
Riding through Kurort Oybin is a feast for your eyes as the sandstone formations on the right hand side are pretty bizarre. After climbing to the border at point 11, you will cross back to Czechia and you will enjoy nice long ride downhill all the way to 16. But you have to be very attentive from 13 to 14 since the path is almost invisible. You could also continue straight at point 13 all the way to the asphalt road and rejoin our trip at point 15. The most enjoyable part of this trip was riding on “hadovka” (snake road) from 16 to 17. Instead “shortcuts” 18, 19, 20, and 21, you can just stay on the asphalt road, but we are trying to avoid it as much as possible.
