This is a very short ride which you can combine with many potential rides through this beautiful city. Maybe you can combine it with some of our earlier maps... We just wanted to point to some interesting features which you can find in this map.
At the start point you will be entering the “scary” tunnel (yes, it was scary when we were walking there with my grandpa in the 1950`s). Check your reflection on the wall at the entrance – here you can get a perfect distortion of your image for free, unlike at the “Bludiště” at Petřín hill (which was made famous by Dan Brown new book The Secret of Secrets). You will probably not need the refreshment at point 2 at this point, but make sure that you save this location for your next time at that neighborhood – this is very likely the most unusual coffee shop combined with a library and cultural center, definitely worth the visit.
It is much better to ride in the direction of the Vltava flow since the bikers going in the opposite direction should share the road with the cars. (Not everybody follows this rule, but at least you can give those unruly bikers your middle finger.) You will not miss the kayakers training at the artificial white waters on your left side and you may think that this is the place where Czech gold medalists are practicing their craft. Between point 3 and 4 you may look for the penguin from the title picture – let us know whether you found him. At point 4 you can stop and rent for free a ball, a frisbee, badminton rackets, petanque balls, etc. – “Park U Vody” is one of the newest and nicest neighborhood parks in Prague.
At point 7 you cannot miss the slightly oversized chair and lamp in a tiny Tamirův park. In point 8 you can turn left and go back to the brewery Marina, again recommended by us for your visit in another time. From there you can see a large boat at the end of the Holešovice marina which looks like a abandoned pirate ship – and it probably is just that.
From 11 to 12 you will be going through construction zone, so you may bypass it on the right. At point 13 you should pay attention not to slide down to Vltava (you may walk the bike). At point 14 you should stop and look at the new wall art. How it looks when you visit may be way different than the pictures we took…
