Nižbor Zbečno Loop

Nižbor is our favorite starting point and we described several trips (Beroun and Nižbor and Nižbor and Křivoklát) starting at the restaurant Zastávka (owned by a famous Czech Paul Newman Tomáš Hanák).

However, this time we decided to explore a piece of the path which seemed on the map as a good idea, but in reality it turned out to be a nightmare. Most of the stretch 2 to 3 is not rideable and you would have to walk your bike through the wild vegetation super close to the waters of Berounka. You can avoid this part by biking uphill from Nižbor on bike path KO6 and after riding down to the valley turning right and going under the road to point 3.

At point 5 you can try to follow our lead and path under the train tracks… Your bike may fit through this hole, but only by a millimeters. Alternatively, go along the river and return to point 8 after passing the train tracks normal way. At point 10 you may see trees growing in the middle of the tiny swamp, if the weather is not as hot as it was when we visited this place the second time. Riding from 10 to 11 is a little challenging, but MTB can handle it fine.

The rest of the ride is just relaxing smooth sailing with the exception of 26 to 27 where the path is narrow uphill and slippery when wet.
